The Avalon Fantasy Casting Call Giveaway

As promised, I’m giving away another signed arc of Polaris, the sequel and conclusion to Avalon. This giveaway is international and entering is super duper easy and fun—I hope.

Here’s the skinny. I’m working on an upcoming blog post where I’m going to chose my dream cast for the Avalon movie, and I need your help! First though, let me crush your hopes in one quick blow—no there are no current plans to make Avalon into a movie. Sadly, the film rights haven’t even been optioned. But it’s never too late. And hey, an awesome space-based sci-fi that’s both funny and warmhearted smashed the box office recently so there’s always a chance Hollywood might come looking for more, right? (And if you haven’t seen Guardians of the Galaxy yet, seriously…stop everything and do that now!)

Anyway, to enter my little contest all you have to do is leave a comment below telling me who you would pick to play any (or all) of the characters in Avalon. Tell me who would make a good Jeth or Sierra. Or Lizzie, Shady, Flynn, and Celeste. Don’t forget Milton, Hammer, Daxton, and Renford as well. I would prefer recommendations for current/available actors, please. I mean, as much as a teenage Nathan Fillion would rock for Jeth, I’d rather have someone ready made to call out in this fantasy casting.

The contest will remain open until Thursday at midnight EST. I will use random.org to select the winner. One enter per person, although please feel free to comment as much as you like. I’m seriously looking for inspirations here. I will announce the winner on the blog and on twitter and FaceBook. Good luck!

Hi Mindee! Thanks for this awsome giveaway....this question is a taff one. Let me think about it...soooo, for me Jeth is like a reals kick-ass MC and i don´t know, but i always pictured him like some really hot dude, who may look like this actor from the tomorrow people: Steven Amell. I know that he does not fit Jeths discription that perfectly, but i really want it to be him :p So, let´s see...then we have Sierra...well i think actors can change (hair colour and stuff) but they kind of have to have the attitude i want a role to represent, so i woul pic Lily Collins. In TMI she was totally awsome and i saw a bunch of movies with her and she can rock every role you give her, so I think she might be the one. Lizzie - Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) I think she'd do Lizzie justice! As for Jeth, I couldn't decide so here's a few - Dave Franco, Josh Hutcherson, Logan Lerman, or Sam Claflin *I think all of these guys could pull off Jeth's attitude & humor.

Okay so, first off, thank you for the incredible giveaway! Avalon is one of my favourite Sci-Fis out there and I CANNOT wait for this release! Secondly, my cast is not accounting for hair colour because that can be changed. Milton : Jared Harris :) I kind of just pictured him like this, I also loved his depiction of Moriarty in the Sherlock Holmes movies and I think he would do him justice :) Hammer - Danny Devito :) Because as I said in my review on my youtube channel, Hammer reminded me of a more intelligent version of Matilda's father and I loved Danny Devito as Mr.Wormwood haha Shady - Will Poulter. just thought of him immediately, I'm not even completely sure why, I just think that he would do Shady justice, who, by the way, was my favourite character Celeste- Odeya Rush. I loved her in the Giver and I think she would make the perfect Celeste. I think her full lips and sexy eyes are kind of how I imagined Celeste looking :) Lizzie - Maisie Williams. I think she is kind of cute looking and definitely a great actress and I think she could definitely pull off just the right amount of innocence, intelligence and kick-buttness that Lizzie needs. Flynn - Dylan O'Brien. I love him in Teen Wolf, which is an extreme guilty pleasure for me, and I think him and Will Poulter, having now worked together in the Maze Runner, could pull of the Shady-Flynn comic-relief of the story :) Jeth- Now we have Jeth. I have thought long and hard about who I want to play Jeth because I have mentioned in many of my videos, Avalon is my number one book I want to be made into a movie. I have gone through any and all actors I could think of. I finally decided on Thomas McDonell from the 100. In that Sci-Fi show he plays a leader figure who is excellent at taking charge. I think Thomas could also pull off Jeth's sense of humour and his relationship with the crew. As for the rest of the characters, I don't really have anything in mind, but since this was the main crew of Avalon plus the Antagonist, this is my main dream cast! I hope you like it :)

  Okay so I am back with the rest of the cast. Vince - Nat Wolff. I think he will be able to play the almost reserved, over protective character really well. I really like him in The Fault in Our Stars and I think he would be a god choice for Vince Sierra - Chloe Moretz. I believe over the past couple of years Chloe Moretz has grown as an actress and I am 100% positive she could play the clever, conniving, protective, kick-butt character that is Sierra. Cora - Willow Shields. I think Willow Shields plays Prim wonderfully and that Cora and Prim share many qualities, mainly their innocence and their naivety. Renford - Benedict Cumberbatch. If I am honest, I am always looking to put Benedict Cumberbatch into any dream cast, but I do genuinely think he could play Renford. I love him as the bad guy in Star Trek and think he could definitely pull of the calm demeanour and evil wit that Renford has. Daxton - Christ Pratt. Because Star Lord. Okay I'm done now :)

    I LOVE all your suggestions. Especially Benedict Cumberbatch. I am the same way--I want him everything. And I adore the idea of Chris Pratt as Dax. Ooh...this is tough! I kind of pictured Jeth how Dylan O'Brien looks in The Maze Runner. I always imagined Sierra as Olivia Holt, but the other characters I never really had a specific actor picked out for. I'll have to think more about this and come back later. Thanks for the giveaway!!

It's always so hard to pick the right actor that will do justice to a certain book character, but here're some of my suggestions: * Jeth - I can totally picture Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf) or Bob Morley (The 100) * Lizzie - I agree that Maisie Williams would be on the spot. My other favorites are Macenzie Foy and Kiernan Shipka * Hammer - I adore Christoph Waltz and think he would be perfect for this role. Michael Ironside would be good choice as well. Oh gosh, this is hard. These are who I picture though, some may be far fetched XD Jeth= Cameron Dallas or Eddie Redmayne (that may be because I love him a lot, but nonetheless), oh oh or Matt Lanter Lizzie= I also agree with Maisie Williams. That would be ideal. Sierra= Can I say Shailene Woodley? Has she been overused yet? I just really like her and I think she could match Sierra's role. Renford= Mark Strong. He''s always a bad guy and he's British, so yeah, it'd be ideal. Awesome giveaway! THANK YOU Also, I just saw your tweet about you not being on social media for a while and I'm sorry! I absolutely loved reading Avalon and I am currently on the 14th chapter of Polaris which I'm starting to like even more than Avalon. I decided I'd make my own little contribution to this fan cast and I'd select Woody Harrelson as Milton. Due to his performance as a Mentor in the Hunger Games series and also portraying an alcoholic (similar to Milton's character) I think he'd be an excellent choice. Also for Hammer I'd choose Bruce Willis because I think he'd be able to fit Hammer's stone-hard demeanor. For Dax, I'd choose Jeremy Renner. In his portrayals as Hawkeye in the Avengers and Aaron Cross in The Bourne Legacy he was a soldier/spy and he has a great since of humor which perfectly fits Dax's persona. And since you are concluding the Avalon series, could keep writing more Sci Fi books ?.

I’m just saying... you should have had Lizzie die or had Sierra die. It would have made the story a lot more realistic. (Having no one important die is not very likely if that actually happened) Vince dying was next to unnoticeable because we rarely ran into dialogue with him. It would also be interesting to see how the other characters react to Jeth killing his sister/a crew member. At least make a novella on what happens after Polaris. I would like to know how Lizzie feels about her close encounter(and I would imagine she may be embarrassed) and what the fate of Aileen will be. On that note, for Aileen I imagined her looking somewhat like Michelle Madow. Though this is the first time I have glanced at actors so my pick may not be good.
